The Stories of The Moon

For as long as we can remember, and even long before that, women have gathered together in circles to share in the cycles of their feminine nature and celebrate their connection with the larger cycles of nature, merging their inner rhythms with the timing of the natural calendar, the movement of their inner lunar energy with the movements of the moon against the canvas of the solar calendar.

Today we live disconnected from this natural time and inherent calendar, torn in a mind over body division of our true nature, unaware of the true needs and inner workings of our bodies, isolated from our sisters and the community support we used to rely on, our feminine expressions curated and dictated by millennia of patriarchal societal structures.

As we are becoming more and more aware of the impact the suppression of the feminine has on our society and our planet, we are also returning to the old traditions of natural living and healing and a more connected way of life. We are feeling the effects of a life disconnected from our own bodies and from the larger body that holds us all, Earth.

The Moonstories is a series of women’s evening gatherings to reconnect with the forgotten parts of ourselves, each other and the natural calendar. Inspired by the Moon’s phases, we will celebrate the different archetypes of the feminine through the eight points on the ancient Wheel of the year, also knows as The Eight Sabbaths:

Ostara (Spring Equinox) – First Quarter Moon – The Priestess – March 24th

Beltane (May Eve) – Gibbous Moon – The Lover – May 5th

Litha (Summer Solstice) – Full Moon – The Mother – June 23rd

Lammas (August Eve) – Disseminating Moon – The Queen – August 4th

Mabon (Autumn Equinox) – Last Quarter Moon – The Wild Woman – September 22nd

Samhain (Hallow’s Eve) – Balsamic Moon – The Witch – November 3rd

Yule (Winter Solstice) – New Moon – The Crone – December 22nd

Imbolc (Candlemas) – Crescent Moon – The Virgin – February 2nd (2019)
